It's not just a coding / documentation problem. It's across the board on any document that continues to be updated by multiple parties in real time, or over time. What a headache - even just my own docs. Sharing them inevitably "is this the latest?"
I am reading this 3/4 of a year later, and think it makes alot of sense. Our PRD's have suffered and died as well. I would need to disseminate the PRD and changes of said PRD through the whole ORG though, and with claude's latest improvements I've been thinking about a similar implementation.
Couldn't you have the PRD be an artifact, that gets sent to each group in the company? the software and firmware team could get it in markdown to plug into their claude code, you could have a project in claude or maybe another artifact that redlines it and exports it in an docx or something like that?
Our company doesn't use a note taking ai besides "teams transcript" so i've been taking the transcripts of our meeting and having claude scrub it to make sure things don't get missed in our notes, and had been thinking about having it also compare against the prd - if it was still active, and finding a way to have it generate easy updates.
GitHub should implement notion-lite on top of their MD file display in repos (or merge their wiki capability into the MD file experience).
This would open up more collaboration outside of agents/tech folks, and I'd love that extra layer of real-time-collaboration on MD files before the next feature iteration!
